이사야 44장 9-20

(9~20절) 우상 숭배의 어리석음 

9. 우상을 만드는 자는 다 허망하도다 

그들이 원하는 것들은 

무익한 것이거늘 그것들의 

증인들은 보지도 못하며 

알지도 못하니 그러므로 수치를 당하리라 

All who make idols are nothing, and the things

 they treasure are worthless.

 Those who would speak up 

for them are blind; they are ignorant, 

to their own shame. 

10. 신상을 만들며 무익한 우상을

 부어 만든 자가 누구냐 

Who shapes a god and casts an idol,

 which can profit him nothing? 

11. 보라 그와 같은 무리들이 다 수치를 당할 것이라

 그 대장장이들은 사람일 뿐이라 그들이 다 모여

 서서 두려워하며 함께 수치를 당할 것이니라 

He and his kind will be put to shame;

 craftsmen are nothing but men.

 Let them all come together and take their stand;

 they will be brought down to terror and infamy. 

12. 철공은 철로 연장을 만들고 숯불로 일하며 

망치를 가지고 그것을 만들며 그의 힘센 팔로 

그 일을 하나 배가 고프면 기운이 없고 

물을 마시지 아니하면 피로하니라 

The blacksmith takes a tool and works with it in the coals;

 he shapes an idol with hammers,

 he forges it with the might of his arm.

 He gets hungry and loses his strength; 

he drinks no water and grows faint. 

13. 목공은 줄을 늘여 재고 붓으로 긋고 대패로 밀고

 곡선자로 그어 사람의 아름다움을 따라 

사람의 모양을 만들어 집에 두게 하며 

The carpenter measures with a line 

and makes an outline with a marker; 

he roughs it out with chisels

 and marks it with compasses.

 He shapes it in the form of man, 

of man in all his glory,

that it may dwell in a shrine. 

14. 그는 자기를 위하여 백향목을 베며 디르사 

나무와 상수리나무를 취하며 숲의 나무들 가운데에서

 자기를 위하여 한 나무를 정하며 나무를 심고 

비를 맞고 자라게도 하느니라 

He cut down cedars, or perhaps took a cypress or oak.

 He let it grow among the trees of the forest, 

or planted a pine, and the rain made it grow. 

15. 이 나무는 사람이 땔감을 삼는 것이거늘 

그가 그것을 가지고 자기 몸을 덥게도 하고 불을 피워

 떡을 굽기도 하고 신상을 만들어 경배하며 

우상을 만들고 그 앞에 엎드리기도 하는구나 

It is man's fuel for burning; some of it he takes

 and warms himself, he kindles a fire 

and bakes bread. But he also fashions a god 

and worships it; he makes an idol and bows down to it. 

16. 그 중의 절반은 불에 사르고 그 절반으로는

 고기를 구워 먹고 배불리며 또 몸을 덥게 하여 이르기를

 아하 따뜻하다 내가 불을 보았구나 하면서 

Half of the wood he burns in the fire;

 over it he prepares his meal, he roasts his meat

 and eats his fill. He also warms himself and says, 

"Ah! I am warm; I see the fire." 

17. 그 나머지로 신상 곧 자기의 우상을 만들고 

그 앞에 엎드려 경배하며 그것에게 기도하여 

이르기를 너는 나의 신이니 나를 구원하라 하는도다 

From the rest he makes a god, his idol;

 he bows down to it and worships.

He prays to it and says, "Save me; you are my god." 

18. 그들이 알지도 못하고 깨닫지도 못함은 

그들의 눈이 가려서 보지 못하며 그들의 마음이

 어두워져서 깨닫지 못함이니라 

They know nothing, they understand nothing; 

their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, 

and their minds closed so they cannot understand. 

19. 마음에 생각도 없고 지식도 없고 총명도 없으므로

 내가 그것의 절반을 불사르고 또한 그 숯불 위에서

 떡도 굽고 고기도 구워 먹었거늘 내가 어찌 그 나머지로 

가증한 물건을 만들겠으며 내가 어찌 그 나무토막

 앞에 굴복하리요 말하지 아니하니 

No one stops to think, no one has the knowledge 

or understanding to say, "Half of it I used for fuel;

 I even baked bread over its coals,

 I roasted meat and I ate. Shall I make a detestable thing 

from what is left? Shall I bow down to a block of wood?" 

20. 그는 재를 먹고 허탕한 마음에 미혹되어 자기의 영혼을 

구원하지 못하며 나의 오른손에 거짓 것이

 있지 아니하냐 하지도 못하느니라 

He feeds on ashes, a deluded heart misleads him; 

he cannot save himself, or say, "Is not this thing

 in my right hand a lie?"

하나님 아버지

오늘도 하나님 말씀 44장 9-20으로

묵상을 합니다

장래 일을 알리시는 하나님이

참 신이짐을

우상은 사람이 고안해 낸 허망한

형상임을

자신을 위해 우상을 만드는

무익한 일에 힘쓰는 자가 되지 않게 하시며

욕심은 죄로 죄는 사망으로 연결됨을

알게 하시며

하나님을 섬기며 

그분의 선하신 뜻을 따르는 것이

인간의 본분임을 알게 하소서

영적 무지와 어둠에 빠지지 않게 하시며 

우상을 섬기는'영적 미혹에

빠지지 않게 하소서

오늘도 하나님이 아시는

저의 모든 기도 제목에

응답하여 주시기를 기도하며

이 모든 말씀 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로

기도 드립니다
